At D&E, Health and Safety is more than statistic management, D&E offer the following initiatives to ensure that our staff maintain a healthy and balanced life; Personal Training sessions, Flu Injections, Injury Prevention & Management, Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and BlackAsh workshops.
We work with our employees, principals, sub-contractors and their health and safety representatives to maintain a working environment that is safe for everyone.
Our employees are fully trained and equipped to perform their tasks to a high standard, without incident.
We also have a health and safety consultative committee that involves representatives from all departments, therefore enhancing the OH&S experience of all employees.
A considerable number of the D&E team are aged between 18 and 24. This age group is more likely to be injured at work than any other. At D&E all apprentices and other new or inexperienced employees are placed under the direct care and guidance of an experienced employee. As an appropriate role model, the experienced employee will insist the person they are training follows all safe work procedures including the correct use of PPE.
